FAQs

Q

How much ice do I need for my ice bath tub?

A

The amount of ice depends on the size of your tub and your target temperature. As a general guide, a standard portable tub requires around 5–10 kg of ice to bring the water down to a beginner-friendly temperature of around 15°C. For colder temperatures between 5°C–10°C, you may need 15–20 kg. If you own a chiller-equipped tub like the PolarDrift Chiller or GlacierSense Smart, no ice is needed at all; the chiller unit does everything for you.

Q

Can I use my ice bath tub outdoors in Hong Kong's humid climate?

A

Absolutely. All of our ice bath tubs are built with Hong Kong's humid subtropical climate in mind. Our outdoor-compatible tubs feature UV-resistant exteriors and moisture-resistant materials that handle heat, humidity, and occasional rain without any issue. We recommend placing your tub in a shaded or covered outdoor area to help maintain water temperature and protect the exterior finish over time.

Q

How long should a beginner stay in an ice bath?

A

For first-time users, we recommend starting with just 1–2 minutes at a comfortable temperature of around 15°C. There is absolutely no rush to go longer or colder straight away. As you build confidence and comfort over days and weeks, gradually increase your session length toward 5–10 minutes. Always listen to your body, keep your breathing steady, and exit immediately if you feel dizzy, numb, or unusually uncomfortable.

Q

Do I need any installation or setup to start using my ice bath tub?

A

For majority of our portable and barrel-style tubs like the FrostVault Pro, NordicWave 2.0, and ArcticShell Elite, no installation is needed at all. Simply unfold or place the tub on a flat surface, fill with water, add ice, and you are ready to go within minutes. For chiller-equipped and hardshell units like the PolarDrift Chiller, CryoCube Urban, or PinnaclePlunge Signature, minimal setup is required such as connecting a drain hose and plugging into a standard 220–240V outlet.
